This is a very interesting church because although the tower and chancel are Victorian 1874-5 by Crickmay of Weymouth, the rest is 16c. There is a splendid barrel roof to the nave and an impressive arch leads to the side chapel, which may once have been a chantry. The nave windows and the font are 15c.
Note the impressive stone carving in a niche. This is of St. Giles and was executed in 1878 by the eminent sculptor, Benjamin Grassby of Powerstock, whose exquisite work can be found in many Dorset churches of the period. (See East Holme North Poorton East Lulworth Longbredy Morden West Lulworth to name just a few)
