WELCOME
to the website of the Dorset Historic Churches Trust a registered charity
which in partnership with the National Churches Trust is dedicated to
the preservation of Christian churches and chapels of all denominations.
Since
its foundation in 1960 by Sir Owen Morshead it has raised over £1
million and given around 800 grants or loans to some 300 Dorset churches
towards fabric repairs, maintenance and restoration.
Our
initial involvement and, mostly, early financial support provides vital
encouragement and confidence to church councils and are key factors in
keeping these marvellous buildings fit for present purpose and to serve
future generations.
With
over 50 years experience, the Trust has developed an efficient system
of administering applications, grants and loans and 100% of any money
raised through this site will go directly to churches towards repairs
and reordering.
Please
support the Trust by joining as a 'Friend', making a donation, shopping
through the site, taking part in the Annual Ride and Stride event, or
perhaps leaving a legacy. Your generous support is vital to enable us
to continue our voluntary work supporting Dorset's wonderful churches
for years to come.
